About me
Adé Sultan Sangodoyin is a Nigerian filmmaker and writer working across film and television. He studied English Literature and Journalism at the University of Buckingham and earned a Master’s degree in Screenwriting from the London Film School. He is known for writing and directing the short films Different Plains (2015) and A Cemetery of Doves (2019) which premiered at the New York African Film Festival.
Alongside his work as a writer and director, Adé Sultan has built a strong international profile as a producer. He served as a co-producer on Eyimofe (This Is My Desire) (2020), which premiered at the 70th Berlin International Film Festival, and on Lady, a feature film supported by the BFI, Film4 and Screen Scotland, which is set to premiere at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival. His credits also include work as a line producer on international television and documentary projects such as La Unidad (Movistar+), Sky High (Netflix), and I Come From Ikotun (dir. Wang Bing).
He is an alumnus of the 2021 Berlinale Talents program. His short film We Must Begin Again, Together, which he wrote and directed, is expected to premiere internationally this year. His feature screenplay Sisyphus, currently in development, was shortlisted for the 2022 Cinéfondation Residency, marking an important step in his transition toward feature-length storytelling. Simultaneously, his short fiction, ‘A Cocaine Fairytale’, ‘A Language of the Unconscious’ and others have been published in The Kalahari Review and Agbowo Magazine.
